  I went to FBC for over 20 years, the former pastor Tim Capon & his wife Sandy were responsible for the church-split in 2005 (37+ members left the church) and it was hidden by Tim from General Assoc. of Regular Baptist Churches-of which Tim is now "The pastor of pastors" as Sandy put it when I saw her at a funeral. They were extremely controlling over the congregation. They could be especially rude if you didn't fit their cookie cutter christian mold. I always loved Tim's preaching until around 2003, something changed he became more of a classroom style teacher. Sandy gradually became more controlling around this time and Tim followed. Truly sad to see two people you once respected reveal themselves as huge narcissists. I still speak with current members and they say Tim comes back regularly to "check up" on his congregation. I suppose that's what one does as "The Pastor of Pastors"

  I grew up going to this church, and it was a great place to learn about the Word and build authentic relationships with diverse people! (edit: The one-star review is definitely fake. There has never been a John Harkwrighter at FBC, and a quick facebook search yields no one named that.)
